MAGIC OF WIKIS

IHLA kept busy during these last few weeks, and new activities and events are ready to roll. We hope you all will have a chance to review the dates (see calendar on the right) and register to participate.

1. IHLA magic of Wikis Session - this session comes back as a popular request, to learn the basics of using wiki pages. These free online spaces let you plan activities for your second language classes, complete projects in collaboration with your students and create resources and references for your students, beyond the walls of your heritage and international language classrooms. 2. IHLA PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS SESSION - This session is an opportunity for IHLA schools to begin to collaborate and share their practices around professional conduct that can be part of the everyday life of your heritage and international community language school. We strongly invite administrators of IHLA schools to register for this session and begin the conversation. The session is offered at the IHLA office on Thursday, April 26, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.. 3.  IHLA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - on Monday, June 11, 2012 at the HLA office building, on the Fourth Floor, IHLA will hold its Annual General Meeting - from 6:00 - 9:30 p.m. Every member of IHLA is invited to attend. Members in good standing will be able to elect the new Board of Directors for the 2012 - 2014 school years. All who wish to attend must register online:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/AGMIHLA2012.

If you wish to be nominated for a board of directors position, review the information on the latest IHLA Newsletter Issue on page 9 (see more about the newsletter below). IHLA board members are a special group of volunteers who make a difference in the IHLA community schools, by supporting, inspiring and encouraging IHLA members and leaders to engage in a variety of exciting projects and activities.
